Donaghmore Ashbourne GAA Club - Games Promotion Officer
Donaghmore Ashbourne GAA Club are seeking to fill the position of Games Promotion Officer for the club. This is an exciting opportunity for suitably qualified persons to further develop their skills in the area of Coaching and Games Development by becoming part of a highly progressive club.
Duties and Responsibilities
The Games Promotion Officer will be responsible for the development and delivery of the club’s coaching programmes across all four codes (Football, Hurling, Ladies Football and Camogie). The role will include underage coach education and monitoring programmes, overseeing School Liaison programmes, developing player pathway programmes, organising club camps and blitzes, liaison with Meath County Board coaching officer and transfer of programmes to club coaches, and other club development initiatives.
Education, Training, Experience and Skills
The Ideal candidate shall have the following:
· Have a good standard of Education.
· Have achieved a GAA Coaching Award Level 1 or equivalent.
· Have at least 3 years of experience of working in the GAA or similar organization (either in a voluntary or professional capacity)
The candidate will be required to demonstrate through his/her application the following skills:
· Satisfactory work experience relative to the duties outlined.
· A good working knowledge of the GAA’s coaching schemes and initiatives.
· Good organizational skills, ability to work as part of a team.
· Good administrative, interpersonal, communication, presentation and IT skills
· Ability to build and sustain good working relationships with the various stakeholders and manage conflict.
· Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, meet deadlines and adopt a hands-on approach to meet targets.
· Ability to work and attend evening and weekend meetings/activities in addition to normal day to day activities.
Hours
The working week shall be 39 hours. The hours of work will be based on a five over six-day roster (Monday to Saturday) as agreed with the club’s executive and/or liaison. The hours of work will include evenings as determined by the duties allocated to the employee. Given the nature of the employment, the employee may be required to work additional weekly hours on occasion. Where the employee is required to work hours outside the normal working week time in lieu will apply.
Garda Vetting
Prior to appointment the successful candidate will be required to comply with Garda Vetting and complete the clubs safeguarding programme.
Interview
At interview candidates will be assessed under the following headings:
· Knowledge and experience relevant to the post.
· Planning and organisational skills, teamwork.
· Knowledge of GAA coaching schemes and initiatives.
· Personal effectiveness, communication/interpersonal/IT skills.
Remuneration
The remuneration may be varied to reflect past relevant experience of successful candidate.
