As the gaa season of 2019 draws to a close for the u7 boys and the matches are now complete.
We can now look forward to our end of year trip next week.
Looking back on the year and remembering the nervous wide eyed almost afraid group of individuals (never mind the players) who were in the arena on a Saturday morning in January.
As the weeks went by and confidence grew and new friendships began we were now seeing a team forming before our eyes.
From our first match on pitch 1 to our last match on pitch 2 these 40 players went from nervous individuals to confident team mates.
Stronger together
Better together
Winners together.
From the start this group have improved week on week and the mentors can't wait to see what 2020 holds for this exciting team.
It has been a privilege and a joy to have begun this journey with all involved in creating this dare I say gaa family.
The team had some daunting away trips
Teams hiding in dressing rooms
Last minute withdrawals of opposition
No problem to this group as together we grow stronger.
Fantastic well balanced matches throughout the year and each week they overcame different challenges together and they always play with a smile .
Nothing better than school yard chat of a Monday morning to realise how much enjoyment the players get out if it.
And not to mention how they won every match on the Saturday ๐.
The journey may have only just started but the paving stones for success are already well established in the team.
We hope that all these young players enjoyed their first year outside the arena
And are as excited about next year as much as we are .
All the mentors would like to thank the players for every week that they listen learn and most of all enjoy and have fun
To all who have come to support and watch the delightful array of hurling and football skills every week we are very thankful.
Together from the first one up to the club to the last player begrudgingly leaving the pitch from team selection to orange cutting to tear wiping and boot cleaning, jersey washing, cone collecting, mascot holding, annoying group texting, picture taking, video editing, bib matching, transporting, car pooling and cold hands applauding
everyone has had a part to play in this "family".
We look forward to the secret trip next week and see you all on Tuesday for training
