Donaghmore Ashbourne was the host club today for two visiting teams in the Leinster u15 Cross Border hurling league.

With perfect conditions for hurling, the first game was Donaghmore Ashbourne Gaa v Arklow. From the throw the Ashbourne hurlers got stuck in and through a combination of strong physical defensive play turning over a lot of ball and great passing and shot selection at the other end the Moores came out on top on a score line of Donaghmore Ashbourne 5-06 Arklow 1-01

The second game had the two visiting teams play each other. Another great game of hurling with Castleblaney coming out on top with a final score of 5-09 to Aklow’s 1-1

Game three was Donaghmore Ashbourne v Castleblaney.
Another cracking game with both sides exchanging early scores. They say goals win games and it was proven right with the Moores hitting the net four times. Final score Donaghmore Ashbourne 4-07 to Castleblaney 1-4.

Best of luck to the Ashbourne hurlers who now progress to the finals to be held in a few weeks time.
